Terms of Sale and Guarantee

EcoAquatic Accountability:
As a business we are dedicated to the preservation of life. We strive to ensure that fish and inverts are collected safely whenever possible. We don’t sell threatened or endangered species removed from the wild. We strive to ensure that our suppliers are accredited and do not use cyanide collection methods.

Please be responsible and provide an environment where your animals have a chance to thrive and grow as they would in the wild. Caring for the life in our charge will ensure the success of our hobby for generations to come.

EcoAquatic Terms of Sale:
Prior to shipping all our livestock is inspected and quarantined (48 Hours) to ensure that only the healthiest specimens are delivered to our customers. All our livestock are carefully packed to ensure we minimize the stress on your new arrival, and we use the quickest and most dependable shipping methods.

EcoAquatic offers an “ARRIVE ALIVE” guarantee that applies to all our livestock unless otherwise specified. Some species have been identified as "delicate shippers" and we cannot offer a guarantee on these items.

If your purchase does not arrive alive we will replace it FREE of charge (excluding shipping & packaging). The following conditions apply:

1. Delivery must be accepted, and signed for on the FIRST attempt.
If the delivery is returned for any reason, including not being at home to accept delivery, the customer will be held liable for the full cost of the invoice plus any return freight charges. Delivery must be accepted, even if he the package has arrived late.

It is the customer’s responsibility to be home on the day of delivery to accept shipment. FedEx will NOT leave the shipment and it will NOT be delivered until the next business day.

You or someone authorized by you, must be present to sign for a shipment if you choose to have it delivered to your home or office. We can not guarantee live arrival on orders that are not accepted, and signed on the first delivery attempt.

Please note that we cannot ship live stock to US or International customers. We currently ship livestock ONLY within Canada.

2. Customers must acclimate new arrivals according to our Acclimation Procedure.
All marine life, form any supplier will undergo stress when being packed and shipped. Specimens that look dead will often recover within minutes of being properly acclimated. Stress weakens any animal's immune system and increases the possibility of developing an infection. For this reason, we recommend all new fish should be quarantined in a separate aquarium for at least two weeks.

EcoAquatic cannot be held responsible for disease related problems if proper acclimation/quarantine procedures are not followed. Acclimate all new arrivals according to our Acclimation Procedures even if they appear to be lifeless.

3. Quarantine all livestock for at least two weeks.
Quarantine all livestock before placing them into your display tank. EcoAquatic will not be liable for losses due to the introduction of a specimen into your aquarium. It is impossible to eliminate all parasites, or pests without killing the fish itself, therefore, we strongly encourage customers to implement quarantine procedures to reduce the risk.

4. Ensure specimens are kept with compatible species.
Customers are responsible to ensure that the livestock chosen is compatible. Please review our compatibility chart prior to purchasing your fish. Compatibility Chart provided should be used as a guideline keeping in mind that the behavior of any single specimen may vary. Customers should inspect new specimens once added to ensure that there are not signs of “bullying”. Observe and monitor new additions for any signs of abuse or damage (tears, frayed fins, cuts, etc.). EcoAquatic cannot be held liable for any losses due to incompatibility.

5. Ensure good water quality.
Customer must ensure optimum water quality to sustain their new arrival.

Claims:
1. All Arrive Alive Guarantee claims must be made within 24hours of arrival to EcoAquatic by telephone or e-mail. Please do not return mail the dead specimen.

2. Claims must be accompanied with a digital image of the dead specimen via email. Place the specimen on a white, blank sheet of paper. Write the date and, shipping address on the paper and email us the image.

3.If you do not have a digital camera, please mail a photograph of the specimen. Claims must be postmarked within 24 hours of arrival

4.EcoAquatic will replace the dead specimen or provide Livestock credit for the amount of the purchase price which may be used toward your next purchase with EcoAquatic ONLY. Credit cards cannot be credited for losses

5.Guarantee applies to original shipment only, not replacement items. Shipping and box charges are not included in this guarantee.

6.Credits are good for only 6 months from the delivery date.

7.Shipping charges for replacement fish are the responsibility of the customer. Eco Aquatic does not pay shipping on replacement fish.
